Who should take this course?
PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers who are at least 12 years old are ready to step up and enroll in an Advanced Open Water Diver course. Young divers may only participate in certain Adventure Dives. If you’re already an Adventure Diver, you only need to complete two more Adventure Dives to earn the Advanced Open Water Diver certification.
What will you learn?
You’ll plan your learning path with our staff by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you can choose the other three, for a total of five dives.
During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.
The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, dry suit diving in colder temperatures, and many more.
How can you start learning ?
Study at your own pace through an easy to use, interactive program. You will also have access to an online version of the Adventure Dives manual and can complete sections for other Adventure Dives as directed by our dive shop. You can also choose to read the Adventure in Dives manual (included in the course). Get your materials and start learning. Our PADI Instructor will meet with you to schedule knowledge review sessions along with your Adventure Dives.

Deep Dive
As a new Open Water Diver 18 meters/60 feet marks the depth limit to which you're qualified to dive. This limit isn't arbitrary; it's based on no-decompression limits, nitrogen narcosis and air supply. However, even if you've only made a few dives before, you may be curious about deeper dives. Perhaps simply to visit specific dive sites below 18 meters/60 feet. The Deep Adventure Dive will satisfy some of this curiosity and give you access by qualifying you to dive as deep as 30 meters/100 feet (in conditions which are good as or better than those in which you have training and experience).
Underwater Navigation
Remember your first open water dive? Underwater Navigation is an important diving fundamental that, as you discovered on your subsequent dives, you learn and apply easily through a few principles and practice. The Navigation dive in the Adventures in Diving program takes the rudimentary skills you've picked up and expands them so you can use them with greater accuracy and under wider circumstances.
